Old Man's War Movie

Old Man's War MovieOld Man's War, the science-fiction novel by John Scalzi, is going to be adapted into a movie. Paramount has indeed bought the movie rights and has announced that Director Wolfgang Petersen (Enemy Mine, In the Line of Fire, Air Force One, Troy) will helm the project. There's no official release date yet though.

For those who haven't read it, the novel Old Man's War is basically a story about old people who get new bodies and fight nasty aliens:

Plot:
"Humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce - and aliens willing to fight for them are common. So the Colonial Defense Force has been created to protect Earth and to fight against those aliens in the scramble for resourceful planets.
John Perry is a 75 yo widower. His old age makes him an ideal candidate for the CDF: the army will give him a new genetically engineered body and will send him to fight against the alien scourge."

The Old Man's War movie, if done right, could be a hell of a film. But I wonder if Paramount is really willing to foot the bill... Well let's hope so!

Anyway, stay tuned with us for more information about the Old Man's War movie!
